Alex Kenyon set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery today.
Kenyon suffered an injury to his knee in the defeat against Barnet on Tuesday and has had surgery today which means he will be out of action for a number of weeks.
Boss Jim Bentley said it was a huge blow.
He said: "Alex has been brilliant in recent weeks and we will definitely miss him.
"We are not blessed for numbers as everyone knows and you will always miss someone as versatile as Alex.
"It's a huge blow for him because I know he hates missing games and for us as well.''
